    यहाँ पर आप Types of Tense in Hindi के महत्वपूर्ण Topics में Past Continuous Tense का प्रयोग करना सीखेंगे। यहाँ पास्ट कंटीन्यूअस टेंस में Hindi के Sentence को English में Translate करने का तरीका सीखें। हमने इस पोस्ट में Hindi से English बनाने के Rules को अधिक आसान तरीके से प्रयोग करना बताया है। 

    इस पोस्ट में आज हम Past Tense के दूसरे प्रकार Past Continuous Tense के Hindi Sentences को English में Translate करना सीखेंगे। पास्ट टेंस के अन्य प्रकार Past Indefinite Tense,  Past Perfect Tense और Past Perfect Continuous Tense होते है। जिनको अगली पोस्ट में Rules, Examples व Exercise के साथ पढ़ेंगे।  

    आइए Past Continuous Tense in Hindi को Detail में Examples के साथ पढ़ना शरू करते हैं। 

    Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English) 

    Recognition (पहचान):

    1. Past Continuous Tense के Hindi Sentences की पहचान करने के लिए हिंदी वाक्य के अंत में रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे आदि शब्द आते है।
    2. इस प्रकार के Tense से हमें Past में कोई कार्य कुछ समय के लिए जारी रहा था। इसके बारे में पता चलता है।

     जैसे:
    वह स्कूल रह रहा था    । इस वाक्य के अन्त में रहा था आया है।
    वह खाना खा रही थी    । इस वाक्य के अन्त में रही थी आया है।
    हम इस गाऊँ में रह रहे थे    । इस वाक्य के अन्त में रहे थे आया है।
    सपना स्कूल नहीं जा रही थी    । इस वाक्य के अन्त में रही थी आया है।
    क्या तुम पाठ याद कर रहे थे?     इस वाक्य के अन्त में  रहे थे आया है?
    पुलिस ने चोर को क्यों पकड़ रही थे?     इस वाक्य के अन्त में रही थे आया है?
    उपर्युक्त वाक्यों से हमें पता चलता है कि इन Sentences में दी हुई क्रियाएं Past में कार्य कुछ समय के लिए जारी थीं। अतः यह सभी Sentence Past Tense के है।

    पास्ट कंटीन्यूअस टेंस में 4 प्रकार के Sentences आते हैं। ये Sentence (वाक्य) निम्नलिखित 4 प्रकार के होते हैं। 
    1. Positive या Affirmative Sentences (सकारात्मक वाक्य)
    2. Negative Affirmative Sentences (नकारात्मक वाक्य)
    3. Interrogative Affirmative Sentences (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य)
    4. Interrogative Negative Affirmative Sentences (प्रश्नवाचक नकारात्मक वाक्य)

    Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English) 

    1. Affirmative Sentences:

    Past Continuous Tense के Positive या Affirmative Sentence को हिंदी में सकारात्मक वाक्य भी कहते है।
    Rule: Past Continuous Tense में Positive या Affirmative Sentence की Hindi से English बनाते समय निम्नलिखत Rule (Formula) का उपयोग करते हैं।

    Subject + was / were + verb (1st form) + ing + Object

    उपर्युक्त Formula में।  
    1. सबसे पहले Subject लिखें।
    2. इसके बाद was या were में से कोई एक लिखें।
    नोट: 1. I, He, she, it  तथा एकवचन कर्ता (Singular Subject) के साथ was का प्रयोग करते है।
    नोट: 2. We, You, They तथा बहुवचन कर्ता (Subject) के साथ were का प्रयोग करते है। 
    3. इसके बाद verb की first form में ing जोड़कर लिखें। 
    3. इसके बाद Object लिखें। 
    4. इसके बाद अगर Sentence में अगर कोई और शब्द दिया हो तो उसकी English लिखें।

    Affirmative Sentence Examples:

    1. मैं अपना काम कर रहा था।
    I was doing my work.

    2. गरिमा रोज स्कूल जा रही थी।
    Garima was going to school every day.

    3. तुम एक आम खा रहे थे।
    You were eating a mango.

    4. वे अपना नाश्ता कर रहे थे।
    They were taking their breakfast.

    5. वह पाठ याद कर रही थी।
    She was learning her lesson.

    6. हम गेंद खेल रहे थे।
    We were playing football.

    7. बच्चे शहर में पढ़ रहे थे। 
    The children were studying in the city.

    8. किसान खेत में हल चला रहा था। 
    The farmer was plowing the field. (PLOW = हल चलाना)

    9. वह किचेन में खाना पका  रही थी। 
    She was cooking in the kitchen.

    10. दादा जी अपने गाँव में रह रहे थे। 
    Grandfather was living in his village.

    11. मैं सोच रहा था।
    I was thinking.

    12. हम हंस रहे थे।
    We were laughing.

    13. मैं बोल रहा था।
    I was speaking.

    14. तुम बातें कर रहे थे।
    You were talking.

    15. वह अपने घर जा रही थी ।
    She was going to her house.

    16. मेरी मां नाश्ता कर रही थी ।
    My mother was having breakfast.

    17. तुम्हारा भाई ऑफिस जा रहा था।
    Your brother was going to the office.

    18. लड़कियां शादी में गाना गा  रही थीं। 
    The girls were singing songs at the wedding.

    19. लोग सड़क पर दौड़ रहे थे। 
    People were running on the road.

    20. चोर गाँव में चोरी कर रहा था। 
    The thief was stealing in the village.



      Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English) 

      2. Negative Sentences

      Past Continuous Tense के Negative Sentence को हिंदी में "नकारात्मक वाक्य" भी कहते है। 
      Rule: Past Continuous Tense में Negative Sentence की Hindi से English बनाते समय निम्नलिखत Rule (Formula) का उपयोग करते हैं।

      Subject + was / were + not + verb (1st form) + ing + object

      पास्ट कंटीन्यूअस टेंस के किंसी नकारात्मक हिंदी वाक्य को हिंदी में अनुवाद करने के लिए निम्नलिखित बिंदुओं पर ध्यान दें। 
      • सर्वप्रथम Subject लिखें। 
      • इसके बाद was या were का प्रयोग करें। 
      • I, He, she, It  तथा एकवचन  कर्ता (Subject) के साथ was का प्रयोग करते है।
      • We, You, They तथा बहुवचन  कर्ता (Subject) के  साथ were का प्रयोग करते है।
      • शेष नियम Affirmative Sentence की तरह प्रयोग करें। 
      अगर वाक्य मे 'कभी नहीं ' प्रयोग हुआ हो। तो main verb से पहले Never लिखते हैं। और not का प्रयोग नहीं करते है।
      जैसे:
      वह कभी स्कूल नहीं जा रहा था। 
      He was never going to school.

      Negative Sentence Examples:

      1. मैं अपना काम नहीं  कर रहा था।
      I was not doing my work.

      2. गरिमा रोज स्कूल नहीं जा रही थी।
      Garima was not going to school every day.

      3. तुम एक आम नहीं खा रहे थे।
      You were not eating a mango.

      4. वे अपना नाश्ता नहीं कर रहे थे।
      They were not taking their breakfast.

      5. वह पाठ याद नहीं कर रही थी।

      Sarla was never going to fair.

      8. मोर बाग़ में नहीं नाच रहा था। 
      The peacock was not dancing in the garden.

      9. वे मेरे घर नहीं रह रहे थे। 
      They were not staying at my house.

      10. फेरी वाला सेब नहीं बेच रहा था। 
      The hawker was not selling apples.

      11. मास्टर साहब अंग्रेजी नहीं पढ़ा रहे थे।
      Master Sahab was not teaching English.

      12. बच्चे मैदान में नहीं खेल रहे थे।
      The children were not playing in the field.

      13. लोग वहां नहीं जा रहे थे।
      People were not going there.

      14. वह मुझे नहीं बुला रहा था।
      He was not calling me.

      15. मैं उसके साथ में खाना नहीं खा रहा था।
      I was not having dinner with him.

      16. वह मुझे साइकिल चलाना नहीं सिखा रहे थे।
      He was not teaching me cycling.

      17. मैं यात्रा नहीं कर रहा था।
      I was not traveling.

      18. वह मुझे नहीं देख रही थी। 
      She was not looking at me.

      19. घोड़ा तालाब में पानी नहीं पी रहा था।
      The horse was not drinking water in the pond.

      20. वे मेरे घर में खाना नहीं खा रहे थे। 
      They were not eating in my house.

      3. Interrogative Sentences


      Past Continuous Tense के Interrogative Sentence को हिंदी में "प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य" भी कहते है। 

      Interrogative Sentences दो तरह के होते हैं।

      Interrogative Sentence Type -1: वो Interrogative Sentences जिनमे "क्या" शब्द वाक्य के पहले दिया हो।

      Interrogative Sentence Type -2: वो Interrogative Sentences जिनमे  "प्रश्नवाचक शब्द"(Question word) वाक्य के बीच में दिया हो।

      Interrogative Sentence Type -1:

      Rule: वो Interrogative Sentences जिनमे क्या शब्द वाक्य के पहले दिया हो। ऐसे Past Continuous Tense में Sentence की Hindi से English बनाते समय निम्नलिखत Rule (Formula) का उपयोग करते हैं।  
      Was / Were + subject + verb (1st form) + ing + object

      Interrogative Sentence Examples Type-1:

      1. क्या तुम रोज स्कूल जा रहे थे?
      Were you going to school every day?

      2. क्या प्रिया  गाना गा रही थी?
      Was Priya singing a song?

      3. क्या तुमने अपना पाठ याद  कर रहे थे?
      Were you learning your lesson?

      4. क्या वे किताब लिख रहे थे?
      Were they writing a book?

      5. क्या मैं सो रही थी?
      Was I sleeping?

      6. क्या वे नदी में नाहा रहे थे ?
      Were they taking a bath in the river?

      7. क्या तुम अपना कंप्यूटर खरीद रहे थे ?
      Were you buying your computer?

      8. क्या सभी लोग बाहर टहल रहे थे ?
      Was everyone walking outside?

      9. क्या वह धूप सेंक रहा था ?
      Was he sunbathing?

      10.क्या मोहन इंग्लिश बोल रहा था ?
      Was Mohan speaking English?

      11. क्या बाग में मोर नाच रहा था?
      Was the peacock dancing in the garden?

      12. क्या गाड़ी तेज रफ्तार से जा रही थी? 
      Was the car going fast?

      13. क्या ट्रेन सीटी बजा रही थी?
      Was the train whistling?

      14. क्या तुम्हारा मोबाइल फोन चार्ज हो रहा था?
      Was your mobile phone charging?

      15. क्या तुम खाना खा रहे थे?
      Were you having food?

      16. क्या तुम्हारी मां नाश्ता बना रही थी?
      Was your mother making breakfast?

      17. क्या तुम्हारी बहन कपड़े धो रही थी?
      Was your sister washing clothes?

      18. क्या वे मैदान में खेल रहे थे ?
      Were they playing on the field?

      19. क्या सुधा बाज़ार में कपडे बेच रही थी ?
      Was Sudha selling clothes in the market?

      20. क्या आज बारिश हो रही थी ?
      Was it raining today?

      Interrogative Sentence Type -2:

      Rule: वो Interrogative Sentences जिनमे प्रश्नवाचक शब्द (Question word) वाक्य के बीच में दिया हो। ऐसे Past Continuous Tense में Sentence की Hindi से English बनाते समय निम्नलिखत Rule (Formula) का उपयोग करते हैं।

      Question word + was / were + subject + verb(first form)       + ing + object

      Interrogative Sentence Examples Type-2:

      1. वह       अपने पिता के साथ बाजार क्यों जा रही थी?
      Why was she going to market with her father?

      2. राम की परीक्ष कब प्रारम्भ हो रही थी ?
      When was Ram’s Examination beginning?

      3. तुम ट्रैन से क्यों जा रहे थे?
      Why were you going by train?

      4. सपना सुबह अख़बार क्यों पढ़ रही थी?
      Why was Sapna reading  News Paper in the morning?

      5. राम अमरीका में क्यों रह रहा था?
      Why was Ram living in America?

      6. वह कहा जा रहा था?
      Where was he going?  

      7. आज रिचा दोपहर में कहाँ जा रही थी ?
      Where was Richa going in the afternoon today?

      8. मोहन अपनी क्लास में क्या कर रहा था ?
      What was Mohan doing in his class?

      9. बच्चे गहरी नदी में क्यों नहा रहे थे ?
      Why were the children bathing in the deep river?

      10. आकाश में कितने पक्षी उड़ रहे थे?
      How many birds were flying in the sky?

      11. तुम कौन सी यूनिवर्सिटी में पढ़ रहे थे?
      In which university were you studying?

      12. वह मुझे क्या बता रहे थे? 
      What was he telling me?

      13. वे तुम्हें कहां ले जा रहे थे?
      Where were they taking you?

      14. मास्टर साहब तुम्हारी तारीफ क्यों कर रहे थे?
      Why was master Ji praising you?

      15. रात में तुम्हें क्या अजीब लग रहा था? 
      What was your weird feeling at night?

      16. उसको इतनी हंसी क्यों आरही थी?
      Why was he laughing so much?

      17. तुम हमारे बारे में क्या सोंच रहे थे?
      What were you thinking about us?

      18. मैनेजर अपने कर्मियों से क्यों परेशां हो रहा था ?
      Why was the manager getting annoyed with his personnel?
       
      19. वे सुबह बस से कहाँ जा रहे थे ?
      Where were they going by bus in the morning?

      20. आज ट्रैन देर से क्यों आ रही थी ?
      Why was the train coming late today?

      4. Interrogative Negative Sentences: 

      पास्ट कंटीन्यूअस टेंस के इस प्रकार के वाक्यों से प्रश्नवाचक भाव के साथ - साथ नकारात्मक भाव भी प्रकट होता है। 

      Rule: Past Continuous Tense के Interrogative Negative Sentences  की Hindi से English बनाने के लिए Past Continuous Tense Interrogative Sentences के Rule के साथ -साथ  Past Continuous Tense Negative Sentences के Rule का भी उपयोग करते हैं। आइए पास्ट कंटीन्यूअस टेंस के इंटेरोगेटिव नेगेटिव सेन्टेन्सेस की हिंदी से अंग्रेजी बनाने के नियम को निम्नलिखित उदाहरण द्वारा समझने का प्रयास करते हैं। 

      Interrogative Negative Sentence Examples

      1. क्या वे नदी में नहीं तैर रहे थे ?
      Were they not swimming in the river?

      2. क्या महिमा बगीचे में फूल नहीं तोड़ रही थी ?
      Was Mahima not plucking the flowers in the garden?

      3. क्या मेरे बच्चे स्कूल नहीं जा रहे थे ?
      Were my children not going to school?

      4. क्या आशीष आकाश में पतंग नहीं उड़ा रहा था?
      Was Ashish not flying a kite in the sky?

      5. क्या वह मुझे नहीं देख रहा था ?
      Was he not seeing me?

      6. तुम हवाई जहाज से मुंबई क्यों नही जा रहे थे?
      Why were you not going to Mumbai by plane?

      7. हम विद्यार्थों को अंग्रेजी क्यों नहीं पढ़ा रहे थे ?

      8. आपके दादा शहर में क्यों नहीं रह रहे थे ?
